Indian fans received the first blow when the Indian team was knocked mercilessly from the Champions Trophy, by ranking third, after Pakistan and Australia headed the four member Series, leaving West Indies in the fourth place.
Then came the second blow. Sachin tendulkar, the Ace Indian batsman ,collapsed in his room at a hotel in Johannesberg in South Africa.
He had apparently eaten something at the Centurion Stadium, which led to a stomach infection. The food poisoning forced him back to the hotel where he felt giddy and fell headlong on his face, bruising his left eye, his nose and his cheek, which received a bad cut.
Although a major catastrophe was averted, he was sent back home along with physio Nitin Patel, the team manager Anurag Thakur & Ramesh Rane the Masseur. All rounders Yousuf Pathan and Abhishek Nayar also accompanied them.
Dhoni and his men in blue lost to pakistan in the opening match. The second match against the Aussies was washed in which they shared the points and finally finished third by finishing west indies.
The seventh ODI series against Australia which will be held at Baroda from 25th October will be the next assignment for the Indian team.
